Here AEC specialists earn internationally recognised certifications through the buildingSMART Professional Certification (PCERT) programme and contribute to Module 6 — the Romanian national content of the certification. The domain's role is to raise and standardise the level of openBIM competence in Romania.
Why education and certification in openBIM?
Adopting openBIM depends on people with validated competencies, not just tools. The Education domain brings buildingSMART's international certification programme to Romania, adapts it to the local context and trains the professionals who implement IFC, IDS and the ISO 19650 series on real projects.

PCERT Entry
An introductory level, online and self-paced. A BIM & openBIM overview and information management per ISO 19650. Takes ~30 minutes.

What is Module 6?
The international PCERT Foundation certification is structured in modules. The first five cover openBIM fundamentals, the bSI standards and the ISO 19650 series — common worldwide. Module 6 is the national content, developed by each Chapter for its own country.
The Education domain of buildingSMART Romania develops and maintains this module, so that the certification reflects local legislation, terminology and practice — and stays relevant for professionals working on projects in Romania.
